The one certainty I hold is that changing the way we operate within Seven Hills Foundation is critical in order to meet our new economic realities, social environment, and clinical service demands. Returning to the status quo is no longer a desired possibility; we must invent new norms, new realities in how we operate, and conform to the new economic landscape our world, our nation, our States must operate within. Learn More Seven Hills President Dr. David Jordan Requests Livable Wages for DSP’s from MA and RI Governors June 17, 2020 I have sent both Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker and Rhode Island Governor Gina Raimondo specific letters calling for their extension of salary enhancements to honor not only the current heroic efforts of our staff–but to honor the profession of direct care by paying a living wage. I will continue to advocate publicly on your behalf so that your work with our most vulnerable people is recognized for it’s importance in our society. This is a time to speak up for what is right and just. I ask that you consider personally asking both Governor Baker and Governor Raimondo that they maintain pay at the pandemic level by contacting your respective state legislators. Ask them to personally reach out to the governors requesting that they keep the pay as is. The doctors, nurses, allied health professionals, EMT’s, firefighters and police continue to rise to the challenges we face, and we are awed by their performance and are forever grateful. But there is another group of heroes we must add to the list to thank – our Human Services Direct Support Professionals. It is time to sound the call to recognize and honor the valuable work of our DSP’s and stop the inadequacies of reimbursement for this workforce. We ask that all staff members adhere to guidance and policies as we work together to keep each other, and the individuals we support safe and well.
